Somatic Bodywork and Movement Therapy
Somatic Bodywork and Movement Therapy is a holistic therapeutic approach that works with the body-mind through gentle movement, touch, and awareness. It offers a space for both listening to and expressing from the felt experience of the body, which includes physical sensations, movements, as well as emotions, memories, and imagination.
We bring attention to various aspects of the body in relation to the client’s enquiries. Different body systems can be touched upon or explored, such as the skin, muscles, bones, organs, nervous system, or immune system. Hands-on touch bodywork, guided movement explorations and dialogue are often part of the sessions. However, each session is unique and is shaped together by the client and the therapist, based on the needs and unfolding experience of the client.
The one-to-one sessions are informed by Body-Mind Centering® (Embodied Anatomy, Infant Movement Development, Movement Repatterning), The Discipline of Authentic Movement, and Somatic Psychology. The work supports the development of embodied awareness and the client’s relationship with oneself and the world.
I am an ISMETA Registered Somatic Movement Therapist/Educator (I.B.M.T. Dip) offering sessions in Tallinn, Estonia.
“Hsuan’s Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy was an eye-opening experience, allowing me to connect deeply with my body, from the skin and bones to the inner organs. At its most profound, it became a transpersonal journey into collective consciousness, bridging body and soul, space and time. Experiencing Hsuan’s work firsthand, both with myself and my sister, revealed the profound potential of this approach to support lasting healing from childhood trauma. Hsuan’s gentle, supportive presence, openness to the unfolding process, and professional approach create a safe and nurturing space for healing.”
“Somatic bodywork with Hsuan has offered a way to explore the subtleties of my psyche in their embodied form. I used to live a distinctly cerebral life, paying little attention to the interplay of emotions and physical sensations. Hsuan has helped me become more sensitive to my body, tuning into where difficult emotions have taken refuge and releasing them through gentle touch or simple attention. In addition to processing the unprocessed, sessions with Hsuan are also just a great way to reach states of deep relaxation and, at times, altered consciousness.”
